A NOTE FROM THE COACH

Hasn't this year flown by, and very quickly we find ourselves at the mid point of the season. This couple of weeks break is a good opportunity for us to take stock and assess our season so far, and reassess what we now have
to do to achieve our goals and make this a successful year for the club.

So far this year we have seen some great individual performances across the grades, but we haven't quite got the team performances on the board that we would have liked to put us in strong positions on the ladders. The seconds
are our only shining light currently in the top four. It's up to all of us now to find what is needed to come home strongly in the second half of the season.

Training so far has been very good, the standard and enthusiasm has been great to see and it's important we keep that going. Attendance at training has been pretty good, but it would always be great to see more people there, especially from the higher grades.

Despite us not having the success we would have liked so far on the field, the club has been a great place to be around, and the spirit of the club is something very special. That is the Lysterfield way, and that is what makes our club great. We must now rally with our team mates to turn our fortunes on the ground. We must have confidence and belief in ourselves and our team, and success will follow. Confidence and belief are key ingredients to success. We have an abundance of talent throughout the club, and we now must all as individuals find that little bit extra that we can bring to our team. We must go out and enjoy and game and enjoy the challenge, at the end of the day we play to have fun and success always increases our enjoyment of the game. I know that we all have it in us to give that little bit extra for our team.

I'd like to thank all players and administrators who have given me tremendous support so far this season. It's a job that couldn't be done without that help and support, and already I can't wait to get stuck into it again after the break. There are also people working very hard behind the scenes to make this club what it is, and their efforts have been outstanding. Let's make sure we all help out where we can, this great club belongs to us all.

Finally, I'd like to wish all players and their families a very safe and happy Christmas and New Year. Enjoy the break, and I look forward to seeing you all refreshed and raring to go in the new year. Let's all dig deep and make this a season to remember.
